Homemade Velveeta garlic Mac and Cheese

Ok so I know you can get this in the box and it’s good but seriously this is just as fast as the box and at least you kinda know what’s in it. Because i mean let’s be serious who really knows what sin velveeta cheese.

So to make this a meal I did a simple lemon pepper chicken and quick 3 min microwave steamed lemon pepper broccoli. I’ll share those recipes too.

Homemade Velveeta Garlic Mac and Cheese

  • 1 16oz box Elbow Macaroni
  • 6 oz Velveeta Cheese (I used the 2 percent)
  • 1 Tbs. Butter
  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1/4 C. Half and Half
  • This time i added a little parmesan but it’s perfectly fine without it.

Start by getting your macaroni on the stove this is by far the longest part of this whole process.IMG_20151222_173903730

Now in a sauce pan melt your butter and add I the garlic. Cook until it’s fragrant which is about 30 seconds. IMG_20160127_165350757

Now add in your cheese.  I like to cut mine all up into cubes or strips so it melts a little faster.IMG_20160127_165902499

Now add in your milk.

let it all melt together and if you want to add parmesan add it now.  IMG_20160127_170531909

Stir constantly so the sauce doesn’t burn to the bottom of your pan. I take mine off the heat some of the time so it never gets too hot.

Drain your macaroni and put back into its pot then add the cheese on top and mix it in. IMG_20160127_170120087

That’s it you’re done.  So ewie gooey delicious.

Now to make it a meal you can pair it with some chicken and broccoli or just eat it by itself.
